Labradoodle Rescue & Goldendoodle Rescue

My bad as I have not been blogging about either of our fosters, Kibby & Bitser.  On January 27, I met Linda R at the GA/TN state line.  Linda had just completed a 4+ hour round trip from Chattanooga to Jefferson City, TN (after suffering from a migraine the night before) to pull Kibbles & Bits from a high kill shelter.

Kibby & Bits were 2 of 10 dogs confiscated from an animal hoarder (10 of 20 dogs).  All 10 dogs were on "death row" and the 27th was to be their final day.  Kibby, a mini goldendoodle was the only one spayed and Bits is Kibbles main buddy.  We just couldn't leave Mr Bitser there to die so he is now officially an honorary doodle in the DRC program!  Unfortunately we later found out the other confiscated dogs were euthanized.

I am not sure how dogs who are use to being in a large pack could be so loveable but both Kibby and Bitser are major snuggle bugs that love to cuddle as close as doodlely possible.  Both are almost scary smart.  They learned to use the potty bells in ONE DAY.  We have been working hard on the Sit, Wait and Stay commands.  Wait was the first one we worked on after they both dashed out the front door to greet some construction guys working across the street.  Now they very nicely put their butts on the floor and wait for people to come in or go out the door.

We had a lot of adoption applications for Kibby.  We had so many good ones come in we had to change Kibby's status to Pending on Petfinder or we would never have gotten through them all.

Well I am happy to say that after reviewing all the applications, calling references and many meetings of potential families at our local dog park, Miss Kibby will be joining her forever family tomorrow.  A wonderful family that lives in Atlanta.  I will attempt to remember to take pictures of the happy group.  Something I have failed to do in the past as I am always caught up in the moment and it is hard to take pictures through tears of joy.

We have Kibby settled; now it is time to find Bits the perfect home.

I love it!..Thank you Nina!....Can you and Diane add these posts to our Happy Tails?
Thanks for taking such good care of these two lucky dogs, Nina! I'm so happy that Kibby has found her forever family!
The family getting Miss Kibby is one lucky family! Such a sweet & beautiful dog. Sounds like you did a great job with both of them. I need you to come give my 2 lessons on wait/stay at the door instead of charging it every time the UPS driver brings a package.
Now that Miss Kibby has her forever home we will begin some serious obedience training with Bits.  Hopefully a well trained Bits will be more adoptable.  We can't bump up his cuddle factor any higher; on a cuddle scale of 1 to 10, Mr Bits is a 12!
I so remember how sweet he was and how he also had that stubborn "I'm going to do my own thing" tendency. Good luck - really LOTS of luck - in finding him that forever home!!!!
