We had some bad weather today - 15 inches of rain and a tornado or three. Firefighters always step up to the challenge. I think we should do a firefighter discount for adoptions!!!

It is tragedies like this that motivates us to ONLY allow our rescued dog be flown in temperature controlled areas of planes (Continental and Delta are the only carriers) and for puppies we try to get flights WITHOUT connecting flights, hence all the ground volunteers needed for Bokah's freedom trip home!

This makes me sick. You can't imagine what the air temps & humidity are like outdoors in Chicago right now, let alone inside a cargo hold without climate control. I will be ill all day thinking of what those poor puppies suffered.

My favorite was Delila. Hope we can find her and her airplane ride and place her back among the famous rescues. Great pictures, great story. I think I would still cry with tears of joy if I read it again.

I think I prevented a re-home the other day...a lady on Face-book who saw Lizzy's picture on Embrace pet insuance immediately wanted to know where to rescue such a beautiful dog. After sharing the care and maintenance of a dood and our site, she wrote back thanking me for the info and didn't know how much time and money was involved. She said she hoped someday to have both so she could rescue one and take care of it properly. Yey for our side!
