- We love our two doodle boys and are ready to add a third.
- Tell us about your doodle(s) and/or other pets that you have:
- We have a a black labradoodle named Gus. He will turn 6 in February. He is a sweetheart! Gus is serious and very tuned in to our emotions. He can be a bit of a toy hoarder but shares his food well. He has a fleece coat. We took him to puppy class and intermediate training. He was the best in his class each time! We have Grady, a parti doodle, that will turn 1 on 11/16/11. He has a wool coat & we call it sham wow like due to the amount of water it holds! He loves the snow & rain! He passed the AKC canine good citizen test at 6 months. He is super playful, twirls for treats, plays never ending fetch, and actually throws balls with his mouth to you! Our west highland terrier, Chelsea, passed at 17 this year. I miss her dearly. Our German Shorthaired Pointer, Logan, passed at 14 this year. He was a difficult dog but he was family. It may sound crazy, but our house seems empty going from 4 to 2.
- Where did you get your doodle(s) and/or why you have chosen a doodle
- We rescued Gus from Flaw Dogs, The story from them is that a breeder surrendered two breeding mothers and their pups because they were consistently black and they were trying to breed other colored coats. They would have been destroyed. We love doodles for their personalities, unique coats, and expressive eyes.
- Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Tell us a bit as to why you are here:
- I visit the local stores every weekend. I donate money and food. I like to give the pups love when I see them. I have found dogs while hiking or driving and have always searched for their owners and found them homes when I was unable to locate their owners.

Doodle grief/heartbroken pack

We have a 5 y.o. Labradoodle who seems to be grieving since the loss of his two elderly siblings this past Saturday. We also have a 10 month old labradoodle as we knew this day was coming and hoped it would ease the transition. Gus, the five y.o., is anxious at times and distant at others. We are devastated at losing our 17 & 14 y.o. dogs and watching Gus suffer is making it so much more difficult. We are trying to take more walks &car rides.
