Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:

My husband and I have been talking about adding a third dog to our family. After moving back to Virginia (we had lived in Arizona for a couple years after college), we are now settled in our new home and think it may be time to expand. Previously we have fostered for a couple different rescue groups, Radford Pound Pals, Virginia and AZ Poodle Rescue in Arizona. Now that we are back in VA we have fostered for Lucky Dog Rescue in the Washington DC area.

Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:

We have two poodles. Huey, a cockapoo, 7 years old, neutered male. Prince Charming, toy poodle, 12 years old, neutered male. Both dogs came to us from rescue. They are very good, laid back dogs that have been exposed to many many of our fosters.

Our dogs came from a rescue that we volunteered with. The rescue worked with the local kill shelter. The first time I saw Prince he was a white ball of fur, climbing the chain link fence. I knew at first sight he was my dog. Huey was an owner surrender, he had been left to live outside until his owners surrendered him. They happened to bring him to the shelter the day I was volunteering, he didnt even see the inside of a kennel :) We have chosen to look for a doodle because we think we may be ready for a larger sized dog. And we love the temperment of both the golden retriever and poodle.

We have fostered for Lucky Dog Rescue, and had been involved with other rescues in the past. We are open to fostering any golden-doodles needing help in our area as well. We've started to look for a golden-doodle, but are not in any rush. We want this dog to be the best fit for our family.
