We love Doodles. We currently have a female Labradoodle that we rescued 8 years ago and would like to adopt a male Goldendoodle
Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:
In addition to our female Labradoodle, we have two female Miniature Schnauzers.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
We had a Goldendoodle years ago and currently have a Labrodoodle. We know that we want another Goldendoodle and are hoping to be able to rescue one instead of purchasing one from a breeder as rescuing a dog that is in need of a home is our highly preferred option.
Have you read our adoption policies?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
yes that is not an issue for us
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
yes we do not have any children in the house
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
We have volunteered for and support Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville and have volunteered at the SPCA when we lived in NY before moving to Asheville. We have done dog transports and fosters many times in the past.

Welcome to the DRC website.
Here is a ‘must read’ article with information you should know before you apply to adopt a doodle: http://doodlerescue.org/forum/topics/information-for-anyone-interested-in-adopting-a-doodle. There is a link to our adoption guidelines which include that you must have owned a dog before and supply a vet for reference. Please read them before filling out an application to make sure that you meet them. The application itself is at the top of any page, but here is a link: http://doodlerescue.org/page/adoption-application-2. The application doesn’t obligate you in any way but it opens the lines of communication with the adoption coordinator. Quite often, a new dog who comes into the program is adopted before he/she is ever listed, because our adoption coordinator is aware of a good approved applicant who would be a good match for that dog. However once you have an approved application on file, if you see a dog under the DRC’s care that you feel would be a good fit for your family, an e-mail can be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org stating that there is an application on file and you would like to be considered for (name of dog).
When looking at the OUR ADOPTABLE DOODLES section, the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so adopters need to be within driving distance to pick the dog up.
