I am a Neonatal ICU nurse and my boyfriend works for the City of Charlotte. We love dogs, and we have a goldendoodle girl dog (Riley) together which we got as a puppy, she is now 5 years old. We love Riley so much and try to find things to do which we can involve her in. We have been wanting to find Riley a friend/sister for a while now. We don't have children and we don't plan on having children. My boyfriend and I have been together for 14 years now, and have decided that our fur-babies are our kids, and we are very happy with that!
Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:
Our goldendoodle Riley has been the best dog we have ever had! She has so much personality, and amazes us at how smart she is. She is cautious of other dogs and people until she gets to know them, and then when she thinks you are good you will have a friend for life. She love all bodies of water except for the bathtub. We love taking her to the beach, to Lake Norman, to the mountains to run and play in the river, and anywhere that allows dogs to be with us. She is a happy fun loving dog that likes to play ball and just run around.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
We have discovered that our goldendoodle has been the best dog we ever could have chosen for ourselves. Anytime we see any type of doodle we immediately go over and talk to the owners and love on their doodle. The personalities of a doodle are so different from any other dog we have ever owned. We love all doodles!
Have you read our adoption policies?
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I have started volunteering at North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue. Plus, I have a friend that rescues dogs and I help her with the dogs she brings into her home.

Welcome to the DRC website.
Here is a ‘must read’ article with information you should know before you apply to adopt a doodle: http://doodlerescue.org/forum/topics/information-for-anyone-interested-in-adopting-a-doodle. There is a link to our adoption guidelines which include that you must have owned a dog before and supply a vet for reference. Please read them before filling out an application to make sure that you meet them. The application itself is at the top of any page, but here is a link: http://doodlerescue.org/page/adoption-application-2. The application doesn’t obligate you in any way but it opens the lines of communication with the adoption coordinator. Quite often, a new dog who comes into the program is adopted before he/she is ever listed, because our adoption coordinator is aware of a good approved applicant who would be a good match for that dog. However once you have an approved application on file, if you see a dog under the DRC’s care that you feel would be a good fit for your family, an e-mail can be sent to: email@example.com stating that there is an application on file and you would like to be considered for (name of dog).
When looking at the OUR ADOPTABLE DOODLES section, the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so adopters need to be within driving distance to pick the dog up.
