Where are you located?
Buffalo, NY
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
Our dog, Jake, is a 5 year old Australian labradoodle. He is a wonderful dog. My 11 year old son and I would like to add a second dog as a companion for Jake and our family, and would like to adopt a doodle in need of a home.
Tell us about your doodle(s) and/or other pets that you have:
Our dog, Jake, is a 5 year old miniature Australian Labradoodle. He is a wonderful dog in every way -- he is smart, loyal, loving, gentle, and active.
Where did you get your doodle(s) and/or why you have chosen a doodle
We got our doodle from a breeder in Honeoye Lake, NY (Lakefront Labradoodle). We chose a doodle because my son has many allergies and needed to find a non-shedding dog. Also, Jake is our first dog, and I wanted to find a dog with a reputation for being gentle and good with chidlren.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Tell us a bit as to why you are here:
No, I am not currently involved in rescue, but I would like to become invovled, particularly with these dogs, who are so wonderful. If we were to add a second dog, I would prefer that dog to be a rescue doodle (a dog already here in need of a home), as opposed to a dog from a breeder.

Fall DRC Welcome
A rescue may not be the wisest choice if your son's allergies are pretty severe.

Johanna, welcome to DRC!  You mentioned that your son has allergy issues.  Please be aware that not every doodle is non-shedding (in fact many of them shed quite a bit) and that every person reacts to every dog differently (in terms of any sort of allergic reaction).  If allergies are a big issue, be cautious with adopting.
