Profile Information

Where are you located?
Gulf Shores, AL
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
I am very interested in adopting a goldendoodle. I have wanted one for years but the timing never seemed just right. Last year I was seriously going to go about getting one when someone dumped a little dog outside where I work and I ended up taking him in and he was a bit of a project. He is now a "fairly" balance member of our tiny pack and I think a new addition will only help him now and not threaten him,
Tell us about your doodle(s) and/or other pets that you have:
I currently have a 13 year old golden(Zachary) who still goes on 3 to 4 mile walks with myself and my one other dog Fenway (the small stray I took in).We live in an apartment currently and I am looking to purchase a new home in the next year. Besides walking daily we also go to the beach and swim at least one a week(much to the dismay of the tiny dog, although he does enjoy an all out sprint in the sand, but no so much the water)
Where did you get your doodle(s) and/or why you have chosen a doodle
I do not have one currently although I did convince my sister that the breed would be a perfect choice for her family and they are new proud new parents of Kaley who came from a place in NewHampshire. They did try to rescue one first, however nothing ever panned out and they made a purchase. Good for them, however both my dogs are rescued and I feel strongly that for me I really want to rescue one versus encouraging breeding. Don't get me wrong I am not trying to be judgemental, It is just a personal choice. I was a vet tech for 15 years and have seen so many animals put down that it keeps me up nights.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Tell us a bit as to why you are here:
I am not involved currently involved however I am now in a position to try to help
