Where are you located?
Auburn, WA
Tell us about yourself and how we might help you:
I am a lifelong dog lover who is temporarily without a dog. I'm hoping to adopt a goldendoodle or labradoodle.
Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:
Our last dog, an Irish Wolfhound, just crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He plan on adopting another IW and a doodle - lab or golden.
Have you read our adoption policies?
I don't have one yet, but have applied for Sammy.
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Yes
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
Yes
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I donate regularly to Pasado's Safe Haven, but have not volunteered other than that. I just recently retired, so plan on being more involved now.

So happy for Rudy

Posted on May 10, 2013 at 1:48pm 3 Comments

I see that Rudy has an adoption pending - Hooray!  I would have loved to bring him into my family, but St. Petersburg is just too far from Seattle.  Hopefully he gets a haircut.  I love the shaggy look, but he must be terribly hot.  I hope we get updates from his forever family.

Mona - if you go to the home page - look in the column on the left for any postings with Sammy's name.

Hi! If you are interested in adopting be sure to read our DRC ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. http://doodlerescue.org/notes/DRC_ADOPTION_POLICIES_AND_PROCEDURES
Check the OUR ADOPTABLE DOODLES section. When you are looking at the pictures, notice that the two letters in front of the dog’s name mean the state they are being fostered in. While the DRC allows out of state applicants, they cannot transport the rescues and will not let them fly, so you need to be within driving distance of the foster.

Here are some other ideas for finding a rescue doodle:
1. Here is an article on what a doodle really is: http://doodlerescue.org/group/isadoodleforyou/forum/topics/what-is-a-doodle
2. Click on the REGIONAL LISTINGS section which lists poodles and mixes from other organizations and shelters around the country -- click "Follow" right below where it says "Replies Are Closed For This Discussion" and you will get email notifications when new listings are added;
3. Here is a helpful article on how to find a doodle on Petfinder and in shelters: http://doodlerescue.org/group/isadoodleforyou/forum/topics/looks-like-a-doodle-to
4. PETFINDER (putting in all zip codes within your driving distance);
5. GOOGLE in shelters and humane societies within your driving range. Check their sites often.
