"Hi Rheva, Thanks for wanting to help. Please look at the volunteer section above and sign up for doodle transport in your area. If there are more things you want to do, I can forward your name to our volunteer coordinator if you like. ."
I would like to volunteer to transport if needed. I also have a large, sturdy crate and a friendly 18 month old labradoodle. I live in a small house with no yard, to speak of, and I do work full-time. However, I would love to assist when/where needed. I might not be able to foster, but I could do respite care and/or transport.
Tell us about your dog(s) and/or other pets that you have:
I have an 18 month, neutered male labradoodle and a 7 year old female spayed main coon. The dog and cat are both very friendly and welcoming. The cat is really calm, she doesn't run nor does she challenge, and she shares well. Finch is great with other dogs and cats. We play daily at local dog parks as well as hiking and spending loads of time at the local rivers.
If you are looking to adopt a doodle, why have you chosen this mix?
I fell in love with the breed when we met a play group a few years ago. They welcomed my former fur-kid into their group and when he passed away from cancer and it was time to find a new baby a doodle just seemed perfect. Finch will, hopefully, be a therapy dog when he calms and grows up a bit.
Have you read our adoption policies?
Yes, I'm not looking to adopt at this point, but I could short term foster, respite or transport
Are you aware that many doodles are not allergy friendly and that many of them do shed?
Are you aware that we do not adopt to homes with children under 10, and that we do not adopt dogs for service work?
My son is 21 and living at home now, but getting ready to "grow up" and move out.
Are you now involved in Rescue? If so, how? Are you interested in volunteering with our rescue?
I volunteer at a couple local shelters and I've always had rescue babies. My first rescue was from a shelter when I was a teen and she was my best friend for 16 years. I've been blessed with 4 other wonderful dogs, all rescues. Three passed in the last couple years, two from age and one from bone cancer. I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds and think we should rescue before we breed.
