So happy for Rudy

I see that Rudy has an adoption pending - Hooray!  I would have loved to bring him into my family, but St. Petersburg is just too far from Seattle.  Hopefully he gets a haircut.  I love the shaggy look, but he must be terribly hot.  I hope we get updates from his forever family.

"MY NAME IS GENTRY AND THIS IS MY STORY"

My name is Gentry. I'm an 11 month old Goldendoodle and my foster mom says that I'm handsome, sweet and a really good boy!

I'm still just a baby with so much love to give... But I've had some traumatic experiences that I would like to share…

Sammy had a fun week!

Sammy had a fun week last week, first 3" of snow to play in then warmer weather and camping in the Sierra Foothills followed by a romp in Lake Tahoe. This was a week of several firsts for Sammy, he saw horses and riders on a trail right next to our campsite, then a family of 3 ducks walked by on the road. In both instances he watched closely but did not react, no growling, barking, or lunging. He's a smart boy and we could see the wheels turning in his head as he watched these strange…

Sammy our new foster pup (Lake Tahoe CA, Reno NV area)

Sammy is a 1 year old neutered male Goldendoodle. He's a happy, energetic, 75 lb. puppy that had to be re-homed since he was a little too much dog for his elderly owners.

He is very people oriented, gentle, and eager to please. He hasn't had much exposure to other dogs but with 3 permanent doods in our home he is quickly learning how to share the spotlight.

Miss Viv says

My duck is right next to me on the couch! Actually it is my couch too those humans of mine just don't get it. Another cute thing I did was this: my dad bought me a dog bed that is kind of like a nest. Dylan is too big for it and besides I made it known that this was my bed... At first I wasn't…

It's been sparse in CA

It's been difficult wanting a rescue dog and a doodle, especially in California.  Doesn't seem to be much activity out here.

Catalog Shopping for a Doodle! (Re-posted from DoodleKisses)

Many things bug me in life.  Just ask my family.  I am very vocal about the things that irritate me and many of my family members can often be heard saying, “Give it a rest, grousemeister!”  Grouse isn’t really the word they use, but it sounds nicer than the actuality.  My mom also used to say, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all,” but I have found when I really get going when something bugs me, it wouldn’t be fair to my family to just clam up and keep my opinions to…

my foster failure, Pippin - still in love!

It was fun just now to look back over the pictures of Pippin when we first rescued him.  I really did fall in love with this little guy - 100% head over heals, and I still am.  He is such a sweet, calm, loving dog.  I wish I knew where he came from so I could tell others who meet him and want a dog just like him.  Maybe he was just one of those special angels, dropped down just for us to find.  It often seems that way.  He is still just as cute as he was as a puppy and hasn't grown much…

Mr. Buckley (aka Mr. Stinky Pants), the foster who stole my heart...

I've fostered before (heck...Mr. Buckley was our 8th foster pup) but I never actually CRIED when I dropped a dog off at his (hopefully adoptive) long-term foster. Here's the beginning of the new life of the pup that stole my heart...

You see, Mr. Buckley was formerly Mr. Stinky Pants. I went to pick…

Doodle Rescue Collective attended the Malibu Romp

Doodle Rescue Collective Inc. was the beneficiary of the 2012 Southern California Doodle Romp. This unique picnic, held in the mountains above Malibu, was attended by doodles and their owners, some from out of California. There were silly doodle contests, a raffle, and an auction as well as a catered lunch.  The doodle population included some former DRC rescue doods.  Jacquie Yorke,  DRC National Director, traveled from New Jersey to join Michele Long, DRC's Southern California Director, to…
