Sully met his furever mom, Olga, and doodle sister, Chloe, tonight and it was love at first sight all around. They will stop by tomorrow to pick up Sully for the drive to his furever home in Tucson. We will miss that wonderful boy but, we are thrilled about the quality of his new home...…Continue
Olga, Sully's furever mom is driving from Tucson, AZ to our home in Escondido, CA, today to pick up Sully. She is bringing Sully's, to-be, doodle sister, Chloe, to meet Sully.
We are excited about Sully finding a furever home but, it is a bittersweet feeling because we have grown to love his wonderful doodle who has lived with us for the past couple of months.
Winnie is settling in Virginia. Just over 2 weeks ago we made the trip out to Indianapolis and scooped Winnie up to come home. Since then, she's been quite busy. We stayed at the Westin Columbus which is very pet friendly and we highly recommend it! It was beautiful and they really fussed over Winnie. Not only was Winnie welcome there but also at Dempsey's Restaurant next door where we ate great burgers for dinner and had a delicious breakfast the next morning at their outdoor café…Continue
Met Shiloh! A gorgeous I believe probably F1B chocolate labradoodle that is just simply to die for. Shiloh and his friend Hannah were pulled from the local animal services in Orlando, Florida where they were brought in as strays. After his stray hold was up DRC pulled them and they got the full treatment -- a haircut he desperately needed, neutered and a trip to the vet to check him out. Turns out Shiloh is heartworm positive but the vet recommended the slow kill method since he's not a…Continue
Through the combined efforts of Doodle Rescue Collective, Inc. folks, we have saved another doodle from euthanasia. Bentley, a beautiful (photos coming soon) dark Labradoodle was pulled from the Agoura, California shelter where he was scheduled for euthanasia.
He is being driven South by DRC, Inc. volunteers and I will pick him up today somewhere north of my home (at a point yet to be determined) and bring him to stay with us until he can find a furever home for him.
Met Bella! An adorable 11 month old most likely F1 goldendoodle that is sure to steal your heart! She is currently 46 lb and a light shedder. Bella was rehomed because her family traveled too much. She is truly an amazing dog. She knows sit, down and will give you paw (both paws actually, I can say this paw and point to right one and she gives me that one). She is crate trained but honestly I don't think she needs it (she loves her crate though and will sleep in it throughout the night with…Continue
So yesterday was our first 4th of July with Ruby. Since she was a re-home we got in November (typical kids, no time, blah blah blah) we had no idea how she would be, I mean she was okay with thunder storms but one never wants to assume all other big scary noises will be okay. Well she did absolutely great!!! First clue was we went to the beach to watch the fireworks and I put her in her kennel and gave her a special treat and a special toy. Our 78 year old aunt lives with us and when we…Continue
Sully (Sullivan) is a wonderful seven and a half year old Goldendoodle whose owners did not want him. They tried to turn him into the San Diego Animal Control Shelter but they were told that the shelter was full and would only accept aggressive dogs for euthanization. The (expletives deleted) owners said, "O.K. he's aggressive, kill him!"
Buddy is a 1 YO M/n Australian Labradoodle that we took into our home last week for fostering & training. Buddy and his sister Scout were left in a backyard for a year, he had no contact outside his immediate family and no obedience training whatsoever.
Despite a rough start he is a friendly and very intelligent little guy with stunning green eyes! He is very shy with strangers but not unfriendly or aggressive. Even though he never lived indoors he is housebroken due to…Continue
I'm Paisley's new Lifetime Mom, sister, and home. Katie, Cora, Adriana and whom ever was a part of saving Paisley and thank you so much for bringing Paisley out of her shell. I promise I will continue to help her feel confident about herself and her surroundings!!!! She is truly one of God's Angels.…Continue
Just here to update our DRC application/profile to share the sad news that we just lost our beloved 9-year-old Goldendoodle, Buster. He recently experienced two very serious bouts of thrombocytopenia (internal bleeding) that was ultimately traced to a cancerous tumor. There were no good courses of action to take, and thus we had to make the difficult decision to put him down. We are so saddened by his sudden departure. But that has only firmed our resolve to rescue another doodle to give…Continue
Just another day at the beach... This is the third boat ride and sandbar day for Paisley. She is showing confidence and has overcome so much in just a few weeks. She was more comfortable on the boat and used her sea legs with superb balance. She actually looked up over…Continue
Meet Scout - a 1 1/2 year old 25 pound scrumptiously black doodle. Who could resist this face?
Yesterday we transported this darling girl between foster homes. She has the most beautiful and expressive face and those eyes - would melt concrete. …Continue
Meet Shelby, rescued today in San Bernardino. This young adult mini was picked up as a stray. She is being fostered in Orange County and will be available for adoption soon. Here is her jail mug shot:
And snuggling with her shelter buddy:…Continue
JUNIOR IS THOUGHT TO BE A LABRADOODLE, BUT, WHO KNOWS ABOUT DOGS WITH NO HISTORY. WHATEVER HIS GENETIC MAKE UP, HE IS PURE CUTENESS AND WE WILL SEE HOW HIS COAT GROWS. WILL HE 'DOODLE OUT' WITH A FULL…Continue
I did this poem in honor of a brave little dog and all of the other rescue dogs in the world. I did the video, as well, in honor of all the wonderful and dedicated volunteers, from all organizations, who work diligently to save the lives of rescue dogs...
