It has been awhile since I wrote here, truth is, things are going very smoothly. Ginger and I are getting far more exercise now that Shadow takes the lead on our walks. He is so excited every day to go exploring, meet new friends (both human and canine), he is very much like a toddler who is interested in everything around him. (more below picture). At least he doesn't bark so much at the turtles anymore, thank goodness!

Ginger seems to know people talk about her when she hears "she is so pretty" or "what a pretty dog!" She warms right up to them seemingly to say, "well thank you, I think you're pretty cool too." Today, a gentleman who was walking his dogs said, "your dogs are beautiful!" He included Shadow! and he is so right. Though he still has a funny pointed 'poof ' on his head, Shadow is gorgeous. His hair is growing in silky and curly, he is tall and regal, and prances like a show horse. Some will notice his eyes, silently they say so much about him (I will try to get a good picture of his face). The two dogs together do make a striking picture, even when Ginger is shaggy like she is now.
Shadow still can get over-excited when he sees other dogs, he wants to play with everyone. You know the saying, the tail wags the dog....precisely. It starts with his tail and pretty soon his entire body is wiggling with excitement. His barking is better controlled now, but not always. Tomorrow I am taking him to the dog park to play with other doodles in the neighborhood, including Barley, the pup we fostered last year. (note to self, remember to bring the camera!) Both boys are very excitable, being fenced in and off leash will be fun for them. I'd like this to become a regular event for him. Ginger will likely sit on the bench with me and watch, though she knows this is the only place she is allowed to dig in the dirt, last time she got a good bath afterward. That wasn't so much fun!
If any of you live in the Tampa Bay area and want to bring your doods, contact me for location and time of the romp.
