My husband drove for hours and hours to Georgia to pick up our new puppy (just 7 weeks old!), because he couldn't wait for one to be available in Florida. I was against the idea from the start after losing our 18 year old mutt years before, but I was outvoted.
By the time he got back home, puppy (no name yet) was sick from the car ride, and afraid to walk on our wood floors. It took us a week to figure out that Ginger, our first thought, was the best name for her. She grew up so fast I don't even have many puppy pictures of her. Now, I can't imagine life without her, or her big brother. This picture is from her "awkward teen phase" before our groomer figured out how a doodle should look...

Forever glad I was outvoted! I had given up on having a dog because of the heartbreak of losing one. I told my husband that Ginger and Shadow must live with us forever.

Ginger has certainly 'grown' up.  She sounds like a treasure and aren't you glad you were outvoted?

I found this one picture of baby Ginger taken with my daughter. One wiggly puppy....
