I put in an adoption application and got an email reply from Kim Keeling that there were no doodles in the area at this time. She didn't address my foster question so I assumed that was not a need at this time either. I have since started as a foster for Labs and More here in San Diego. Are you in need of fosters now?
Hello - I initially contacted Doodlerescue after I lost my wonderful Labrador in February. You let me know to contact you when I was ready. I am now at a point where I would like to look into fostering with the intent to adopt or just adoption if the right dog comes along. I submitted my adoption application today through the Doodlerescue site. Contact me at your convenience to discuss my options with your organization. Thank you...Beth
Hi - Thanks so much for your note. You raise a point I hadn't thought about. We have only a very mild allergy problem with our cockapoo (one child gets itchy eyes if she rubs the dog and then rubs her face), and I was thinking that golden and labradoodles would most likely be the same. If golden and labradors are bigger shedders than spaniels, does that raise the likelihood that there will be greater allergies? Thanks.
Thanks so much for the welcome and information! I've actually already read the Before You Foster article and submitted an application about a week ago. When should I expect to hear whether or not I've been approved?
Thank you for your comment! I am fully aware that many doodles shed but also that some don't. Since we are looking at an adult adoption where it is known if the dog sheds or not, and since we would really like to have a doodle, we are hoping to still go via this rescue for a successful adoption. We are aware that our choices are much more limited though.
I was hoping you could let me known how long it takes to find out any information on the progress of an adoption ? I filled out my application for one of your little boys that you have for and I am just so anxious and excited to get him if I qualify
Thanks so much for your response back and information on the allergies, we are aware that every dog is different and no dog is 100% allergy proof. Our interest in the doodles is because they shed less than most and I just love them to pieces. Plus I know people that have them and they have made great family pets. Which is our primary concern, we have grown kids and loads of family around all the time so it is most important they are people friendly.
Happy to discuss and thanks again for the information.
